  • My Taste of Heaven in Seoul

No trip to Seoul is complete without indulging in some seriously delicious food, and I’ve already found my favorite spot to satisfy my cravings: Myeongdong Kyoja, a local gem that’s quickly become my go-to. While they’re known for their famous kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup), my real obsession here is the incredible tteokbokki and Korean fried chicken—two dishes I can’t seem to get enough of.

The tteokbokki at this place is perfect—soft, chewy rice cakes drenched in a rich, sweet-spicy sauce that hits all the right notes. Every bite is a delightful mix of savory and spicy, with just the right amount of heat to keep you coming back for more. I’ve had tteokbokki in a lot of places, but something about this restaurant’s take feels like home—simple, comforting, and absolutely irresistible.

Then, there’s the Korean fried chicken—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a sweet, sticky glaze that’s addictive. It’s the kind of chicken that makes you want to order a second (or third) round, especially when paired with an ice-cold bottle of soju. Whether it’s spicy or sweet, it’s always a winner.

This restaurant has become a regular stop on my trip, and I can’t imagine coming to Seoul without enjoying my favorite comfort foods here. If you’re ever in the area, make sure to swing by and try the tteokbokki and Korean fried chicken—trust me, your taste buds will thank you.

  • Seoul OOTD 1 : Off-Duty Idol

When I arrived in Seoul, I knew I wanted to blend in with the effortlessly cool street style here, and what better way to try than to channel the look of an off-duty K-pop idol? I’d seen countless idols rocking casual yet fashionable outfits, and today, I was determined to put my spin on it.

I decided to go all-in with denim—because nothing says “chill but stylish” like a good pair of jeans and a classic denim jacket. I opted for a fitted denim jacket with a slightly oversized vibe to give it that laid-back, model-off-duty look. Underneath, I layered a plain white tee, simple but essential, to keep things fresh and comfortable.

For the bottom, I chose high-waisted denim jeans, with just the right amount of distressing to give it that slightly rugged feel. I kept the footwear casual with a pair of white sneakers—easy to walk in, but still stylish enough to complement the look. To finish it off, I added a black baseball cap for a bit of extra flair, and some sunglasses to give off that cool, mysterious vibe.

As I walked through the streets of Seoul, I couldn’t help but feel like I was blending right into the city’s fashion scene. People here have this effortless confidence, and I definitely felt a little bit like a K-pop idol myself (or at least like I could be one). I’m sure I’ll have plenty more outfits to share during my trip, but this one? It’s definitely a solid start. Here’s to dressing the part and feeling the vibe of Seoul!

  • Annyeong, Seoul!

My first day in Seoul has been nothing short of a whirlwind—filled with moments of awe, excitement, and a few happy surprises. I arrived early in the morning, and after settling into my guesthouse, I immediately set out to explore the vibrant streets of this dynamic city.

Seoul is a city of contrasts, where ancient traditions seamlessly blend with modern innovation. My first stop was Gyeongbokgung Palace, a stunning piece of history nestled in the heart of the city. The royal architecture and peaceful gardens were a perfect escape from the bustling city, and watching the changing of the guard ceremony felt like stepping back in time.

From there, I wandered through the narrow alleyways of Insadong, where the fusion of traditional tea houses, art galleries, and quirky shops gave the area a cozy, nostalgic vibe. I couldn’t resist stopping for a cup of traditional green tea in one of the charming cafés.

As the day went on, I made my way to Myeongdong, a lively shopping district that was a sharp contrast to the peacefulness of Insadong. The neon lights, street food vendors, and crowds of people created an electric atmosphere. I indulged in some of the best street food I’ve ever had—tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and crispy hotteok (sweet pancakes), both absolutely delicious.

The evening ended with a walk along the Cheonggyecheon Stream, a serene escape that cuts through the heart of the city, offering a peaceful respite from the urban energy.

In just one day, Seoul has already stolen my heart with its unique blend of old and new, quiet and chaotic. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
